Earlier today, Everton drew 1-1 with Brentford thanks to a goal from Tottenham and Newcastle target Anthony Gordon.

The Everton No.10 – who has also been the subject of a £60m bid from Chelsea – opened the scoring before Vitaly Janelt equalised in the dying stages.

After full-time, Gordon was seen doing something particularly interesting given the speculation about his future.

What’s the story?

Well, the England Under-21 international was seen appearing to wave goodbye to the travelling Everton fans after the 1-1 draw with Brentford, while he also threw his shirt in the crowd.

Of course, the shirt throwing doesn’t carry much significance – in our view at least – as most players do that on a weekly basis.

However, the waving is certainly intriguing, given the rumours about Gordon leaving Goodison Park.

It has been said that Chelsea firmly believe they will sign the forward ahead of the September 1st deadline.

Despite their confidence, those at Stamford Bridge must be wary of Tottenham – Daniel Levy is supposedly planning to hijack the move.

While that is going on, Newcastle are said to be monitoring the situation as they weigh up a late bid for Gordon.

Tottenham & Newcastle eyeing a potential superstar

Gordon showed why there is so much fuss being made about him in the 1-1 draw against Brentford.

As WhoScored shows, the Everton academy graduate had five shots on goal, and managed to get four of those on target – more than any other player on the pitch in both aspects.

Impressively, Gordon also registered five successful tackles – again, no player on the pitch recorded more.

That is a huge amount of defensive work for a forward – clearly, there are no signs that the youngster’s head has been turned by interest in his signature, as his effort and desire was there for all to see.
