If you get into Antonio Conte’s good books, there’s a real chance that you will play for him with another club down the line.
Victor Moses and Arturo Vidal are great examples of this, as is Ivan Perisic with all three now having played for Conte at more than one club.
Alessandro Bastoni would have joined that list had Conte got his way, but it’s another Inter defender who could now end up at Tottenham.
Stefan de Vrij wants a new agent
Inter star Stefan de Vrij continues to be linked with Tottenham; it’s becoming a transfer window tradition at this point.
The Dutch international became a key part of Conte’s title-winning Inter side in the 2020-21 season and a reunion has been mooted.
L’Interista reported just last week that Tottenham and Newcastle United have both made contact with De Vrij’s representatives to try and thrash out a 2023 move.
De Vrij is out of contract at the end of the season and is now expected to leave the San Siro.
That could be a cut-price move in January or simply a free transfer next summer, mirroring Ivan Perisic’s decision to leave Inter for Spurs.
De Vrij has publicly praised Conte and a reunion may well appeal to the defender as he considers his options.
Another sign of an impending exit has emerged with FC Inter News reporting that De Vrij is now looking for a new agent.
It’s stated that the favourite is Federico Pastorello, who is well-known to Tottenham boss Conte given that he represents Romelu Lukaku too.
Seeking a new agent with an expiring contract is a pretty clear indication that De Vrij is weighing up a move away from Inter and Tottenham will be paying very, very close attention.
