The reported Arsenal target seems to be tailor made for Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has somewhat of a problem with his attacking department at the moment, with Harry Kane and Lucas Moura currently injured, and Heung-Min Son set to miss at least three games due to international duty.
Will the Argentine be tempted into bringing in reinforcements, however?
One useful option for them could be Lille forward Nicolas Pepe, who is reportedly attracting attention from Arsenal this month, according to the Mirror.
The £45 million-rated ace plays predominantly as a winger, but he can also operate through the middle as a striker.
He has been in fine form for Lille this season, chalking up an impressive 13 goals and seven assists in 20 Ligue 1 outings thus far.
Pepe is lightning quick, and plays with a certain type of energy and vigour that makes him ideally suited to Pochettino’s setup at Tottenham.
The 23-year-old’s attacking output would surly be a massive plus for Spurs, especially with so many attacking players unavailable for selection this month, although it is unclear as to whether the north London outfit’s hierarchy would be prepared to smash their transfer record by bringing the Ivory Coast international to the club.
The Lille ace is at an age where he will undoubtedly continue to improve, however, and £45 million could end up looking like an absolute bargain.
Despite sitting nine points adrift of Liverpool, Tottenham are surely still in the title race, and should they bring Pepe to north London this month, it could turn out to be the signing that makes all the difference for them between now and May.
