Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Zenit St Petersburg striker Sardar Azmoun – and they have a perfect chance to scout him against Chelsea tonight.
The Champions League is back tonight, and Chelsea face a potential banana skin against Russian side Zenit.
The likes of Dejan Lovren, Malcom and Artem Dzyuba will be men to watch – but Tottenham may have their eyes elsewhere.
Tottenham’s interest in Azmoun
Zenit striker Sardar Azmoun should start against Chelsea, and Tottenham are keen on signing him.
Azmoun claimed earlier this month that Tottenham made a move for him this summer. Zenit said no, as they did with Lyon, Bayer Leverkusen and Roma too.
The Iranian striker smashed 19 goals in 24 league games last season and could have been ideal foil for Harry Kane.
With Azmoun out of contract next summer, Fabio Paratici is surely eyeing him up for a free transfer having wanted to sign him for cash this past summer.

Tonight a perfect scouting trip for Tottenham
First things first, Tottenham face Chelsea this weekend. Scouting Thomas Tuchel’s man ahead of that game is natural, attempting to see tactics and patterns of play to help Nuno Espirito Santo.
Azmoun’s presence in the game makes this a no-brainer though.
Azmoun scoring against Russian competition is one thing, but going up against Chelsea defenders is another.
In order to really convince Tottenham to push for his signing, Azmoun may need one big performance against proven Premier League defenders.
Tonight, Azmoun has that chance. Tottenham need to send a scout over to West London and add another layer of analysis to their reports on Azmoun.
