The Monaco and Belgium ace is on loan at Premier League club Leicester City.

If Tottenham Hotspur needed any more convincing that they should pursue Youri Tielemans, Brendan Rodgers’s latest comments on the highly rated Leicester City loanee should hopefully do the trick.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Spurs are still pursuing the Belgium international midfielder, who is on loan at the King Power Stadium from Monaco in a deal which saw Adrien Silva go the other way.
Transfermarkt shows that, since arriving in the Premier League, Tielemans has weighed in with one goal and four assists for the Foxes in just seven appearances, as well as generally putting in impressive displays.
According to the Belgian outlet, Leicester have been told to pay €45million (£40million) to sign Tielemans permanently, which Four Four Two notes would be a club record fee for the 2015-16 Premier League champions.
Speaking ahead of their league trip to Huddersfield Town, Rodgers told Four Four Two: “I think you can see he is clearly an outstanding young player. He has a terrific view of the game, for someone who is just 21 he has tremendous maturity.

“If you look at his record, he has played an awful lot of football for a young player. The thing is with him, he is only going to get better. He trains and plays with a smile, he’s very focused and he is starting to get intensity into his game. He’s been a real joy to work with.”
Though there is no doubting that Leicester like Tielemans and vice versa, the 21-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: “I do not know what is going to happen this summer. I feel really good here, but I have to see the other options too.”
With Tottenham building a superb young squad and boasting not only one of the best managers in the game but also having moved into one of the finest stadiums in the country, Spurs really should make themselves one of the “other options” following Rodgers’s glowing assessment of the play for now and for the future.
