Edin Dzeko would be a significant upgrade for Tottenham Hotspur at the moment.

Tottenham Hotspur’s season is hanging by a thread.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were dumped out of the FA Cup on Sunday, three days after Chelsea beat them on penalties to reach the final of the League Cup.
Nine points behind Liverpool, Spurs are unlikely to win the Premier League at this point, which means that the Champions League represents the only chance to salvage silverware.
Problem is, Harry Kane and Dele Alli will be missing for their first leg with Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 of the competition, and a poor result will make it very difficult to progress.
Tottenham desperately need a striker and, with four days left in the transfer window, perhaps it’s time to get serious about Edin Dzeko.
According to Italian media outlet La Repubblica, Pochettino is weighing up a move for the Roma hitman, who scored twice in Sunday’s 3-3 draw away to Atalanta.
He might turn 33 in March, but Dzeko, who has nine goals in 16 starts for the Italian giants across all competitions this season, can still do a job for Tottenham in the absence of Kane.
And he would be eligible to play for them in the Champions League. Dzeko, who earns £76,000 per week in Italy [Calciomercato], already has a hat-trick in the competition this season and he is simply a better option than Fernando Llorente.
Similar player, but better and it’s time the North Londoners made a move.
