The Bayern Munich man would be a useful, albeit risky, signing for Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report from French publication RMC Sport, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches, but Tottenham should surely be looking to hijack the Ligue 1 outfit’s interred in the Portuguese youngster.
Sanches, 21, joined Bayern from Benfica in the summer of 2016, for a fee that could eventually rise to £40 million, according to BBC Sport, but he has so far failed to live up to his incredible potential.
The Portugal international endured a tough time whilst on loan with Swansea City last season, but he proved at Euro 2016 that he has what it takes to be a real star, and who better to help him fulfil his potential than Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Tottenham are in real need of another top quality central midfielder, with Mousa Dembele having recently left the club and Victor Wanyama facing an uncertain future in north London.
And Sanches could be just the man for the job.
The Bayern ace is a tenacious, tough tackling box-to-box midfielder, and he also possesses exceptional technical ability.
He has undoubtedly struggled over the past couple years, but a change of scenery might be just what he needs to help reinvigorate his career.
Spurs will undoubtedly miss Mousa Dembele’s box-to-box drive, and Sanches would be aa wonderful replacement for the Belgian.
There would obviously be a certain amount of risk involved in any kind of deal for the Portugal international, but Pochettino should go out on a limb, and take a punt on the talented midfielder.
He could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Tottenham.
