Tottenham Hotspur need to be in the race for Norwich City’s Ben Godfrey.
Norwich City are top of the Championship table, and fans are now dreaming of a return to the Premier League after a superb season under Daniel Farke.
The problem for the Canaries is that some of their top players are now attracting interest off the back of their performances this term.
Just last week, The Mirror reported that Tottenham Hotspur are all keen to sign Norwich full back Max Aarons, and Ben Godfrey is the latest to be linked away.
The Mirror claim Arsenal and Manchester United watched Ben Godfrey in action against Ipswich Town on Sunday, with the report adding a valuation of £10million, which seems to be on the cheap side; Norwich would certainly be in a strong position to demand even more.
If Spurs are in the market for Aarons, then they certainly should be targeting Godfrey too, as he ticks the boxes for Tottenham this summer.
The London Evening Standard recently suggested that Mauricio Pochettino and co are looking for homegrown players, with a centre back and a holding midfielder wanted.
The great thing about Godfrey is that he can play both positions; the 21-year-old was an anchor man for York City and on loan at Shrewsbury Town last season, but has been an outstanding centre back for Norwich this term.
Godfrey has huge potential, and as a homegrown player who can play in the two positions Spurs are looking for additions, he must be on the Tottenham radar alongside teammate Aarons.
Norwich winning promotion may make signings either player more difficult, but if a young, talented, versatile Englishman heads to Arsenal, Tottenham would surely be left kicking themselves.
