Tottenham must beware complacency.
You won’t find a Tottenham fan who did not enjoy their thrilling friendly win over Paris Saint-Germain in the early hours on Sunday morning.
Spurs beat the French giants 4-2 and looked fantastic in doing so, with Christian Eriksen scoring a stunner.

The result was confirmation of Tottenham’s ability to mix it with Europe’s best, and will be a confidence boost heading into their upcoming Champions League campaign.
There should however be a note of caution.
Spurs have not made any new signings this summer, and they risk deceiving themselves if they keep on winning in pre-season.
A winning streak now will count for little if injuries bite early on in the season, and Tottenham will have missed an opportunity to strengthen.
The victory and manner of it will reinforce Tottenham’s belief they do not need to go out and spend this summer, but that is a dangerous plan.
A loss would have been a wake up call to the team, and perhaps sparked them into belated action in the transfer market.
Complacency is dangerous, and Tottenham are not necessarily being over confident at present, but they risk falling into that trap if pre-season results mask their deficiencies.
It is positive for Spurs to be picking up momentum ahead of the new season but their win could be the opposite of what they needed.
