Tottenham have enjoyed a successful campaign so far this term, and it is only because of Manchester City’s brilliance in the Premier League that they are not challenging for the treble.

One player who is key to everything good that Spurs do is Victor Wanyama, although he has been used sparingly of late, after suffering a long-term injury at the start of the season.

This has led to rumours linking him with an exit from the club in the summer, with the Daily Mail claiming that Manchester United have identified the Kenyan as a primary summer transfer target.

Chelsea have fallen from runaway champions last season to fifth place this term, and their decision to sanction Matic’s exit to United is now looking like terrible business from them.

Tottenham must take heed from this, and not repeat their London rival’s mistake, by keeping hold of Wanyama this summer.
