Tottenham claimed to remain keen on soon to be ex-Newcastle winger Florian Thauvin.

Tottenham Hotspur are claimed to still be keen on Marseille winger Florian Thauvin, according to RMC Sport.
Head coach Mauricio Pochettino is said to hold an interest in the Frenchman after a recommendation from mentor Marcelo Bielsa.
Thauvin is still owned by Newcastle United but will make a permanent move to Marseille in the summer.
He has recaptured his form in Ligue 1, winning the March player of the month award, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in 32 appearances.

Despite these impressive showing, Tottenham would be better off avoiding Thauvin at all costs.
They have twice made recent errors buying French wingers, with both Clinton N’Jie and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou still on their books. Neither scored a single goal for the club after signing and both could leave permanently this summer.
Not only have Tottenham been warned about the hazards of buying from Ligue 1, Thauvin has a black mark against him in football and character terms.
He himself did not settle in the Premier League after being signed by Newcastle. He failed to make an impact and after struggling, he fled back to France on loan after just six months.
All of this stacked together means Thauvin is a player Spurs should not pursue, and while Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace may be more expensive, he is proven in the Premier League and a far better transfer target.
