Tottenham have been linked with a move for Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson, but it is actually Arsenal where he is better suited.

Another impressive season for Gylfi Sigurdsson in which he provided the third most Premier League assists with 13 and also scored nine goals has seen speculation increase over a summer move.
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are considering a £25m deal for a player that they sold to Swansea City back in 2014.
Having struggled at White Hart Lane previously, a chance to redeem himself in a Spurs team that has improved massively under manager Mauricio Pochettino since he left may seem tempting, but it is a move Sigurdsson should avoid.
That is because despite his decent stats in 2016/17, unfortunately he is just not as good as the current options Pochettino has and as a result, time on the bench is all that beckons. Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are both superior in terms of ability and output, while Heung-Min Son also arguably deserves to be ahead in the pecking order.
Not that Sigurdsson’s hopes of playing for a European side should end there, as his style is perfectly suited just a short journey across North London at Arsenal.

After the Gunners finished fifth in the final table and outside the Champions League places, the future of both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez (who both have a year remaining on their current contracts) remains in the balance.
Yet even if one of both did not depart the Emirates Stadium then Sigurdsson’s technical ability would still make him the ideal fit at the club, with the Iceland international able to operate behind the striker or coming in from the left flank.
Alongside Ozil and behind Sanchez he would be an upgrade on current options Santi Cazorla, Alex Iwobi, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
