Tottenham Hotspur fancy signing Moussa Dembele but he is planning to stay at Lyon even though they have re-signed Alexandre Lacazette from Arsenal.

Tottenham have already signed three players this summer with Fabio Paratici making a very fast start to the summer window.

Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic have joined on free transfers whilst Yves Bissouma has arrived from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Antonio Conte still wants more new faces though and a new striker will be a must.

Tottenham want to give Harry Kane more support up top and a host of names have been linked with that role, including Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus.

Another name in the mix is Lyon striker Dembele.

Foot Mercato reported in May that Tottenham are looking to sign Dembele in a deal that could be worth between £22million and £25million.

Other Premier League clubs were thought to be keen too but Tottenham have been looking at Dembele for a number of years now.

Tottenham wanted to sign Dembele from Fulham in 2016 but reports suggested that he actually failed a medical with Spurs.

Dembele headed to Celtic instead, scoring 51 goals in 94 games to earn himself a 2018 move to Lyon.

67 goals in 144 games for the French side is pretty impressive, and he racked up 21 goals in just 30 league outings last season.

The 25-year-old’s position has been put under threat though because Lyon have completed the rather glitzy signing of Alexandre Lacazette.

Lacazette is a Lyon hero and his return from Arsenal is a pretty big deal, leaving Dembele’s future up in the air and possibly giving Tottenham hope of a deal.

Yet French newspaper L’Equipe now claim that Dembele has no plans to leave and wants to stay put despite Lacazette’s arrival.

Dembele allegedly ‘feels good’ at Lyon and isn’t going to agitate for a move.

If Tottenham want to sign the striker – six years after missing out – then they may face a battle convincing him, especially as he would only be cover for Harry Kane.
