Tottenham Hotspur players could receive offers from heavyweight Premier League and European clubs in the summer.
While Spurs will do their best to keep hold of their star players, one player they are most at risk of losing is England international Kyle Walker.
If the reports (Manchester Evening News) are to believed, Manchester City are heavily interested in signing Tottenham duo Danny Rose and Walker, and have a great chance of signing the latter.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola feels the need to strengthen the squad at the end of the season, and is reportedly eager to add more home-grown talent to his squad.
Walker would be a massive upgrade over the current lot at City. At one point of time, there were doubts about Walker early on in his career, but he has redefined his skills to become one of the best right-backs in the Premier League.
He has improved on his delivery (0.4 crosses, 1.3 key passes) and has been solid at the back (2.2 tackles and 1.3 interceptions) as well, per whoscored.com.
Furthermore, he has provided five assists as well this season.
Guardiola has always emphasised on building his team around quality full-backs. At Barcelona, he had Dani Alves, and Philipp Lahm at Bayern Munich – two world class right-backs.
While Walker may not be on the same level as them, the 26-year-old is arguably one of the best in the Premier League.
The signing of John Stones from Everton has shown that Guardiola is ready to spend huge money (read as insane) to sign the player he wants.
If City offer a similar sum for Walker, can Tottenham refuse straightaway? Probably not.
