Tottenham fell to a disappointing defeat at the King Power Stadium.
Tottenham Hotspur’s disappointing recent form could well be attributed, in part, to their difficulties in coping without Toby Alderweireld, who remains out due to injury.
However, as they fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Leicester City in the Premier League on Tuesday night Tottenham also appeared to be sorely missing another member of their squad.
Harry Winks missed the game at the King Power Stadium due to illness, and Tottenham struggled in a creative sense, with Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli not at their best.
It is anticipated that Winks will return to the fray for Saturday’s game against Watford, and it would come as little surprise if manager Mauricio Pochettino was to give the prospect a place in the starting line-up.
Winks wasn’t especially convincing in Tottenham’s draw with West Bromwich Albion last weekend, but has shown on numerous occasions this campaign that he is capable of setting the tempo of games with his precise passes, while his dribbling can also help to push his side up the pitch.
Tottenham, having taken one point out of a possible nine in their last three Premier League games, desperately need to return to winning ways against a spirited Watford team, and Winks’ return could make a major difference in terms of swinging the game in the favour of Pochettino’s team.
