The 20-year-old Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate has signed a new contract until 2021.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that midfielder Harry Winks has signed a new long-term contract with the club until 2021.
The 20-year-old could be set for a breakthrough season this year after impressing in pre-season. He has a single brief appearance to his name this season, after coming on late against Liverpool – his Premier League debut – but has been on the bench on two other occasions and is likely to be heavily involved in the club’s upcoming League Cup tie with Gillingham.
It is a big show of confidence by Mauricio Pochettino and Spurs in Winks. Having dispensed with fellow academy graduates Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb this summer, they have clearly seen enough of him to offer a five-year deal.
Winks was delighted with the deal and also his brief league debut last month, and paid credit to the work Pochettino has done with the club’s youngsters.
“It’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life,” he told Spurs TV of his appearance against the Reds.
“I’ve had a good start to the season, come back in good shape and am loving every minute. To be offered a new contract is the icing on the cake, I’m over the moon.
“The manager has done some excellent things with young players, including myself. I believe I’m improving every day.”
Both Eric Dier and Christian Eriksen have also agreed long term deals at White Hart Lane in the last couple of weeks, and it looks like Winks is very much a part of Tottenham’s long-term midfield plans.

Mauricio Pochettino had suggested Spurs were close to agreeing a second contract extension of the week a couple of days ago, when discussing Dier’s deal, and it looks like the club are pushing on with rewarding their young players.
England Under-20 international Winks, whose previous contract was set to expire in 2018, made his Spurs debut in 2014 during a Europa League match against FK Partizan.
