Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli says he is only focusing on his game.
Alli joined Spurs from Milton Keynes in 2015 for a bargain fee of £5 million, and has quickly established himself as not only a key player for his club, but also for his country.
Quite naturally, big clubs have been showing interest in him, with European giants Real Madrid being one of the clubs that he is frequently linked with.
However, Alli’s latest comments should please the Spurs fans. The 21-year-old has said that it is easy to get carried away with all the rumours going on about the future, and the high price tag mentioned, but he is only focused on improving his game.
“It is very easy to get carried away and buy into all that stuff, but with good people around you, it is easy to stay focused as well,” said Alli, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
“Your priorities in life matter a lot. And if the priority is just football, then you don’t think too much about what people are saying around it. There are always going to be rumours about moving and what you are worth, but if you only focus on the football, that’s all you are going to see.”
The comments clearly suggest that Alli is not bothered about leaving the club anytime soon. He has progressed by leaps and bounds under Mauricio Pochettino, and has a contract at the club till 2022.
Alli hasn’t been at his best this season, and Spurs fans will only hope that he recaptures his old form sooner for his club.
