Tottenham Hotspur are set for a busy summer transfer window, and according to certain reports, two of their top targets are Gerard Deulofeu and Romelu Lukaku.

Corriere Dello Sport are now reporting that Spurs are in for Deulofeu, while Lukaku has long been touted as a target after his successful spell working under Antonio Conte at Inter Milan.

Deulofeu and Lukaku are, of course, two players that know each other very well. They played together at Everton and they struck up one hell of a partnership.

In fact, Deulofeu assisted Lukaku no fewer than 12 times during their time together at Everton, and the pair have both gone on the record to praise one another in the past.

Deulofeu and Lukaku tore the Premier League to shreds during their time together at Goodison Park. Their link-up almost led to Lukaku winning the Premier League Golden Boot in 2017/18, and if they reunite in north London then they could rekindle this excellent partnership.

Of course, Tottenham already have one of the Premier League’s great duos in the shape of Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane, but if the worst happens and those two players leave or pick up injuries, Deulofeu and Lukaku would be more than competent replacements.

Lukaku hasn’t had the best of times back in England since joining Chelsea last summer, but a reunion with Deulofeu and Antonio Conte may see the Belgian rediscover the form that convinced Chelsea to spend close to £100m on him in the first place.

Spurs would be wise to add both of these players to their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.
