The London Evening Standard report Tottenham Hotspur are ready to sell centre-back Kevin Wimmer this summer.
The Austrian has been left on the sidelines for most of the season despite a tactical shift to play three central defenders, with Eric Dier preferred despite his underwhelming performances in the position.
While Spurs have the chance to replace him with another top talent, Harry Maguire and Michael Keane are mentioned in the same report, the decision to let Wimmer leave could come back to bite them.

After a slow start to his Spurs career, Wimmer excelled when replacing Jan Vertonghen last season during an injury crisis.
Wimmer starred as Tottenham won away at The Etihad, and their late season collapse only came after the Austrian was dropped for the returning Vertonghen.
Even this season Wimmer has performed well. An unfortunate own goal in the North London may not have helped, but it would be harsh to sell him purely on that basis.
Tottenham fans may adopt the ‘in Pochettino we trust’ mantra, but the Argentine’s record in the transfer market is patchy at best.
West Bromwich Albion’s Nacer Chadli in action
Last summer they sold Nacer Chadli to West Bromwich Albion, and have seen the Belgian flourish at the Hawthorns, scoring five goals and providing five assists in the Premier League.
His replacement, Kevin-Georges N’Koudou has not even started a Premier League game, and while the likes of Maguire and Keane bring a Premier League proven pedigree, letting Wimmer leave echoes the harsh decision taken regarding Chadli.
Mauricio Pochettino seems to have made up his mind, and there could be no way back for the Austrian, but as Chadli has shown, that does not mean it is the right decision.
