Spurs have brought two new faces to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer following two transfer windows bereft of signings.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has outlined exactly what type of player he wants at Spurs, in conversation with Sky Sports News, suggesting that the club could be even more meticulous in the transfer market going forward.
Prior to the opening of the summer transfer window, there had been widespread criticism amongst some sections of the Tottenham fanbase following two windows bereft of signings, some blaming last season’s Premier League title race collapse on a lack of reinforcements.
This summer, Spurs signed Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke – the latter returning to Leeds United on loan – while at the time of writing there was continued speculation linking the club to the likes of Paulo Dybala and Giovani Lo Celso.
Tottenham’s purse strings have been loosened somewhat this summer after the club returned N17 and took residence in their brand new stadium but, given Pochettino is quite particular about the kind of player he wants at Spurs, it seems as though there will be no settling for anyone less than top class.

“You want players that you can coach, that let you coach them,” the Argentine told Sky Sports News. “Players that are always available to give their best, players whose purity is football. That is the most important.
“Obviously the quality they have is important, and that is why they are here as footballers, but the most important afterwards is the mentality, that professional side, caring about themselves, because that can make the difference. We are going to care more about this in the future.”
Tottenham get their Premier League campaign under way this weekend when top-flight new-boys Aston Villa come to North London.
