Marcus Edwards scored against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night and the Sporting ace didn’t hold back from celebrating.
Tottenham were back in Champions League action on Wednesday night as they hosted Sporting.
This was Tottenham’s penultimate Champions League group stage games and they really needed a positive result to make sure of a last-16 place.
This proved to be another tricky night against the Portuguese side though having lost 2-0 in Lisbon last month.

Marcus Edwards scored against Tottenham
Tottenham fell behind last night and nobody was really surprised by the goalscorer.
Marcus Edwards dropped deep, skipped away from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and fired a low, left-footed strike beyond Hugo Lloris.
Tottenham know all about Edwards.
The Sporting star came through the Tottenham ranks and was being backed for an enormous future.
Edwards lost his way a little and had to leave Tottenham and England in order to get his career on track.
Vitoria de Guimaraes swooped in and Edwards started to fulfil his potential with 20 goals and 14 assists in 96 appearances.
Sporting then snapped Edwards up in January of this year and he has now had two chances to show Tottenham what he can do.
Edeards was outstanding against Tottenham in their first meeting last month and then went and scored on Wednesday.
We often see players refuse to celebrate against former clubs but Edwards was having none of that.
Edwards turned away and couldn’t hide his joy as he celebrated with teammates in front of the Tottenham fans.
Edwards spoke to BT Sport after the final whistle and admitted that he didn’t actually want to celebrate.
However, Edwards admitted that he was just too happy and couldn’t help himself after finding the back of the net, changing his mind on a celebration after all – and few can begrudge him that after a long road to that moment.
“It’s crazy for me, it’s just crazy that all my family and friends are here supporting me,” said Edwards. “I wasn’t going to celebrate but I was just too happy, it took me a long time to get here so I just couldn’t help myself,” he added.
