Tottenham were interested in Marcus Rashford but have found any potential deal with Manchester United almost impossible to agree.
Tottenham will be in the market for big signings this summer having secured Champions League qualification.
Add in the £150million cash injection from ENIC and Tottenham could be in for a big summer under Antonio Conte.
Tottenham do need to place a strong focus on adding homegrown talent this summer with players needed for squad quota reasons.
Tottenham were interested in Marcus Rashford
With that in mind, Tottenham appear to have looked into a deal for Manchester United ace Rashford.
Rashford really failed to hit top form last season and managed just four goals in 25 Premier League games.
The 24-year-old came in for huge criticism from United fans some have wondered whether the Red Devils would cash in this summer.
New boss Erik ten Hag will surely take a look at Rashford this summer and Tottenham have struggled with their attempts to sign him.
Agent Roberto De Fanti has told Caught Offside that teams in Italy and Spain have been chasing Rashford.
Yet with United demanding between £70million and £80million, the belief is that Rashford won’t be going anywhere.
Most interestingly, De Fanti claims that Tottenham were negotiating with Rashford’s representatives to try and thrash out a summer move.

De Fanti adds that Tottenham found a deal ‘virtually impossible’ and that transfer just won’t be happening this summer.
“I can also confirm that there have been some discussions very recently between the player’s camp and Tottenham Hotspur. The London club feel negotiating a deal for Rashford is virtually impossible though – so that transfer no longer seems an option,” he added.
Now you may wonder why an Italian agent would have that much knowledge of Tottenham chasing Rashford.
Yet De Fanti does actually have ties to Tottenham because he is the agent of Spurs defender Japhet Tanganga.
That does add some credence to De Fanti’s claims as his work around and with Tottenham may have brought some information his way.
Ultimately, it looks like Rashford won’t be joining Tanganga in North London this summer.
