PSG are reportedly ready to appoint former manager Thomas Tuchel as Christophe Galtier’s replacement two years after sacking the German, who is now linked with the Tottenham job.
According to the Evening Standard, the former Chelsea coach is the favourite to take over at PSG with Galtier’s position at the club on the line following a dismal run of form in Ligue 1 as well as another early exit from the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.
With PSG also being eliminated from the Coupe de France, there’s a slim chance that Galtier could end his first season with the French giants with no silverware if fortunes in the league take another drastic turn, and as a result, Tuchel could be re-appointed in a shock move for all parties.
The decision would come as a major blow for Tottenham, though, with the Evening Standard previously reporting that Spurs are interested in hiring the former Chelsea manager as a replacement for Antonio Conte, who looks set to leave the north London side at the end of this season.

Indeed, Tottenham had looked the strong favourites to appoint Tuchel in the summer, however, this update surrounding PSG could throw a massive spanner in the works for Daniel Levy, who could now miss out on the German coach to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Whilst appointing Tuchel was always going to cause some issues with Tottenham supporters, not many would have predicted the former Borussia Dortmund man to be tipped to return to PSG, who sacked the German on Christmas Day in 2020 before going on to win the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea later that season.
PSG appointing Tuchel would be a strange move for all parties

Tuchel is without question one of the best managers in Europe having led the likes of Dortmund, PSG and Chelsea to success. However, returning to Paris, a club where the German infamously fell out with everyone, would be a strange move for all parties involved.
With Tottenham missing out on a major managerial target, Tuchel himself might not last long in Paris given how much has changed since his dismal in 2020, with Lionel Messi now at the club and Neymar now more disassociated with the squad than ever before.
