According to Sky Sports, Nuno Espirito Santo could now become Tottenham Hotspur’s new manager before pre-season training starts on Monday.
What’s the story?
It’s claimed that Nuno will not be heading to Turkey with Fenerbahce despite reports from Fanatik earlier this week.
Tottenham remain confident of bringing Nuno to North London, with Fabio Paratici now in London to finalise the deal.
In fact, Tottenham are now planning to get Nuno on board before pre-season starts on July 5th – this coming Monday.
How did Nuno fare last season?
Nuno did a great job taking Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Premier League and then into the Europa League, but last season was tricky.
Diogo Jota and Matt Doherty had both moved on whilst Raul Jimenez suffered a major injury, and a transitional season saw Wolves finish 13th.
With only 36 goals scored – the fifth-lowest total in the league – Nuno’s tactics didn’t exactly see Wolves go flying forward.

Is Nuno a good appointment for Tottenham?
Daniel Levy wanted a free-flowing and attack-minded manager, but Nuno doesn’t really fit that bill.
His tactics are fairly close to how Jose Mourinho set up, and Nuno even played under Mourinho at Porto.
Is this going to be a huge change for Tottenham? It doesn’t feel like it, and with a bigger club harbouring greater expectations – both in terms of results and style – Nuno may need to be a little more adventurous at Tottenham in order to be a success.
