According to the Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur have ditched their interest in Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter after a staggering £20million compensation demand.

Tottenham’s managerial hunt has been truly shambolic, missing out on so many targets – even those that fans weren’t so keen on, like Paulo Fonseca.

Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici must now find somebody else, but it looks like Potter is no longer an option for Tottenham.

Tottenham stunned by Potter demands

Tottenham seemingly had some interest in Potter, but were left ‘shocked’ when they found out it would cost £20million to prise him away from Brighton.

Potter only signed a six-year deal last year, so Brighton are well within their rights to demand such such a huge financial package.

Tottenham seemingly aren’t in a position to pay that kind of money for a manager, and a move for Potter seems to be dead in the water.

Where else do Tottenham go now?

Nuno Espirito Santo remains a favourite, but it’s added that Belgium boss Roberto Martinez is still in contention to land the job.

The Spaniard is currently away at Euro 2020 with Belgium, so any move to bring him to North London could depend on how far they go.

The report even adds that Tottenham are keen to speak to Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, though it’s thought to be unlikely that he will leave Ibrox.

Tottenham’s manager hunt goes on, seemingly no closer to finding out just who will replace Jose Mourinho some two months on from his exit.
