Tottenham have been linked with a plethora of talent over the last few weeks despite enduring a less-than-impressive campaign.

Spurs may find themselves in the Europa League final against Manchester United, but the fact they’re also 17th in the Premier League table shows how far off the pace they’ve been this season.

So, it isn’t all that much of a surprise to see a number of players being linked with a switch to North London this summer in hopes of improving their fortune.

And, as the transfer window isn’t all that far away, some of these rumours may start to gain more ground, especially for top-quality players such as Rayan Cherki.

Tottenham make Rayan Cherki enquiry

As per a report from Le Parisien, Spurs have now joined Manchester City and Liverpool in making an enquiry for Lyon playmaker Cherki.

An attacking midfielder seems to be a high priority for Ange Postecoglou’s side, with Tyler Dibling also being linked with Tottenham.

LOSC Lille’s Angel Gomes is another name rumoured with Spurs, so it’s not all that much of a surprise to see Cherki’s name being thrown into the ring.

However, with Arne Slot and Pep Guardiola also having their eyes on Cherki, it could be difficult for the North London outfit to persuade him to join the club.

Tottenham could be in dreamland with Cherki signing

Despite still only being 21 years old, Cherki has already been compared to Eden Hazard, with plenty of time to still develop his game.

The attacking midfielder has been one of Lyon’s standout players this term and has contributed to 31 goals in just 43 games, with 19 of them coming from assisting his teammates.

Not only would his goal contributions and impressive passing ability be of major use to Postecoglou, but the fact that he can play anywhere across the front three is also a major selling point.

The Frenchman would help improve their attack tenfold, and perhaps be a solid replacement for Mathys Tel should he not remain at Spurs past the summer.

Only time will tell what the future holds, but if Daniel Levy gets his chequebook out, Cherki could be exactly what Spurs need.
