Tottenham Hotspur have been making contact into a potential deal to sign Galatasaray star Kerem Akturkoglu in 2024.

Galatasaray star Kerem Akturkoglu is attracting major Premier League interest with Tottenham Hotspur now very keen.

That is according to a report from Turkish newspaper Aksam, who claim that Tottenham are ramping up their interest in Akturkoglu.

Spurs and Galatasaray have struck a couple of deals in recent times, potentially aiding future deals between the two clubs.

Davinson Sanchez was sold to Galatasaray whilst midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has been sent on loan to the Turkish side – and Spurs could now seek to land a Galatasaray player in 2024.

Tottenham Hotspur making moves for Kerem Akturkoglu

Aksam now claim that Tottenham had been ‘investigating’ a potential move to sign Akturkoglu.

It’s stated that Spurs have contacted Galatasaray for information about a deal and are seeking talks with Akturkoglu’s camp.

The report adds that Liverpool and Manchester United are keen whilst Arsenal are ‘seriously interested’ in landing the winger.

Galatasaray intend to give Akturkoglu a new contract with a pay rise, in an attempt to fend off the Premier League clubs.

Spurs are also thought to fancy Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson, but they seem to be prioritising Akturkoglu right now.

Who is Spurs target Akturkoglu?

Akturkoglu failed to break through with Istanbul Basaksehir as a kid before heading into Turkey’s lower leagues with Karacabey and 24 Erzincanspor.

The left winger was just so good in Turkey’s third tier that Galatasaray pounced in 2020 and Akturkoglu just hasn’t looked back since.

Akturkoglu has racked up 34 goals and 37 assists in 135 games for Galatasaray, proving himself to be a top contributor for Galatasaray.

Manchester United found that out earlier this month as Akturkoglu scored a lovely finish in a 3-2 Galatasaray win.

Still only 24, Akturkoglu has been on quite the journey to become a star for Galatasaray and Turkey, leaving many to wonder about his next step.

Hailed as a ‘very fast’ player by Barcelona boss Xavi, Akturkoglu could give Tottenham another attacking option down the left flank, with Son Heung-min now playing more centrally.
