Can Tottenham persuade Matias Vecino to sign?

Tottenham Hotspur have made an approach for Fiorentina ace Matias Vecino, according to The Sun.
The 25-year-old midfielder scored five goals and provided five assists last season and would bring experience to Mauricio Pochettino’s youthful side.
Vecino ended the season strongly, netting twice in a dramatic 5-4 win over Inter Milan.

The Uruguayan international is though more of a luxury than a necessity to an already strong Tottenham midfield, and that’s perhaps just as well as his dream English club are competitors Liverpool.
The Express reported last year that he told Corriere dello Sport: “My dream has always been to play in England, but I don’t know whether I will be here until I am 30 or 35.
“I always liked Liverpool and I would like to follow Alonso and many other team-mates of my national team.”
Vecino will have heard good reports about Liverpool too from his international teammate Luis Suarez, although at present there are no suggestions the Reds will move for him.
Tottenham appear to have a clear run at him, and the only obstacles are Fiorentina driving a hard bargain, and whether Vecino himself is prepared to make the switch to London.
