Tottenham Hotspur could be in the market for a new central midfielder.

Steven N'Zonzi of Sevilla FC looks on during the UEFA Champions League match between Sevilla FC and NK Maribor at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on September 26, 2017 in Seville, Spain.

Bookmaker Bet Victor has opened a market on Steven N’Zonzi’s next club, and made Tottenham Hotspur third favourites to sign the Sevilla midfielder.

Tottenham are 6/1 for the Frenchman’s signature, alongside Everton and behind only Arsenal and Chelsea (4/1).

Unlike the trio, however, Spurs have yet to be linked with N’Zonzi in 2018, making their presence intriguing.

Although, their interest in the 29-year-old does make some sense, given speculation surrounding Mousa Dembele’s future at White Hart Lane.

And, should Dembele leave Tottenham this summer, N’Zonzi could be seen as a suitable replacement.

N’Zonzi, whose contract is said to contain a €40 million (£35 million) release clause, is being tipped to leave Sevilla in the coming weeks and months.

However, a move looks more likely to happen in the latter part of the transfer window, after the former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City player was named in France’s squad for the 2018 World Cup – alongside Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
