Porto travel to take on Liverpool at Anfield tonight, and Tottenham Hotspur may be wise to send a scout to watch Luis Diaz in action.

Liverpool are already coasting through to the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Tonight’s game against Porto doesn’t mean all that much to Jurgen Klopp’s side in the grand scheme of things, but it’s key for Porto.

Porto sit second in Group B, and a win tonight would put them in the box seat to qualify ahead of Atletico Madrid and AC Milan.

Key to any Porto success tonight will be winger Luis Diaz, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Diaz, 24, has been in ridiculous form this season, smashing nine goals and two assists in 11 league games.

With another two goals in four Champions League outings, Diaz is at the top of his game.

The Colombian international is unsurprisingly attracting major interest off the back of his Porto exploits.

A Bola reported in October that Tottenham have been watching Diaz. They were allegedly left ‘very impressed’ after a showing against AC Milan.

What a chance to see him tonight then.

Diaz will be going up against Premier League opposition tonight, which may give Tottenham an indication of how he would perform in England.

If Trent Alexander-Arnold starts for Liverpool, Diaz would be going up against him down Porto’s left flank.

That battle can really add to Tottenham’s analysis of Diaz, as a positive display will prove that Diaz can do it against top English competition.

The fee in question isn’t cheap – Porto want Diaz’s €80million (£67million) release clause according to Record.

Tottenham have another chance tonight to see whether Diaz is really worth that kind of cash, and seeing him first hand at Anfield would be vital for Fabio Paratici ahead of a potential bid in 2022.
