The Spurs attacker scored a sensational goal for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the first CL matchday of the campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur may have missed out on the opportunity to open their Champions League campaign on a winning note but one positive from the game against Olympiacos came in the form of a sensational Lucas Moura strike that has been nominated for Goal of the Week.
Spurs were two goals to the good heading into half time thanks to a Harry Kane penalty which was followed up by Moura’s rocket, taking a touch to control Ben Davies’ pass then swinging his right foot to rifle into the Olympiacos net from 20 yards out.
Unfortunately Mauricio Pochettino’s charges conceded shortly before the break through Portuguese winger Daniel Podence’s quality finish, before Mathieu Valbuena grabbed the equaliser from the penalty spot to ensure a share of the spoils come full time.
Nonetheless, Moura’s effort is on the four-man shortlist for the best CL strike of the opening matchday, alongside efforts from Juventus man Juan Cuadrado, Paris Saint Germain’s Angel Di Maria and Edson Alvarez of Ajax.
As mentioned on the Champions League site, the poll opens on Wednesday night during each matchday, featuring four of the best goals from the week’s action, registered users can then take part in the poll, voting for their favourite goal, and the poll closes on the Friday of a matchday.
Up next for Mauricio Pochettino’s charges is Saturday’s Premier League trip to Leicester City in the day’s early kickoff.
