Josh Onomah has really impressed for Aston Villa in recent weeks, and that should make Tottenham Hotspur think twice.

According to a recent report from the London Evening Standard, Tottenham may consider offering Watford some of their fringe players in an attempt to boost their chances of landing Richarlison – who Spurs are keen to sign following his brilliant start to his debut Premier League season.
The Standard named Josh Onomah as one of the players who could potentially be used by Tottenham to try and sweeten the deal with the Hornets, who are unlikely to be too keen to discuss potentially selling their £13 million signing, so will surely need as much encouragement as possible to give a deal the green light.

It may have surprised many Spurs fans to see Onomah suggested as a potential makeweight for a deal given that he appears to be extremely highly-rated at Tottenham and it looked like he was destined for an extremely bright career with the club.
However, surely the 20-year-old’s most recent form out on loan at Aston Villa should be making Tottenham reconsider thinking about being willing to let him go on a permanent basis.

Onomah has really stepped up in recent games for Villa, shining in the wins over Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland, and scoring what proved to be the winner in the latter.
The performances have helped put the Villans fourth in the Championship, well clear of the sides chasing the play-off places in the second tier.
While Onomah still has some way to go before he is really make a statement that Mauricio Pochettino cannot ignore, sustaining his current form over a much longer period would surely hint that Spurs would be wise to think about whether they really want to let him go, and whether it would be better to offer another player instead.
Similarly however, if Pochettino has decided once and for all that Onomah is the player that he is willing to offer to Watford to boost their chances of landing Richarlison – and it certainly does not appear that that is the case yet – then his current form will please him as the deal is surely more likely to appeal to the Hornets and perhaps may reduce the overall price they need to pay.
