Tottenham midfielder produced his best display yet for Schalke.
Nabil Bentaleb produced arguably his best performance for Schalke yet this past weekend as he inspired them to a 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin.
Last week it had emerged that the Bundesliga side were having doubts about signing the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder permanently, according to German outlet Spox.
Schalke have a clause to sign Bentaleb permanently for £17 million in the summer as part of his loan deal, a fee Tottenham would surely be delighted to receive for a player who is fifth or sixth choice in their own queue for a central midfield role.
At the weekend he may have moved a step closer to securing his permanent switch due to his game winning display.

He provided both assists in the victory, setting up goals for teammates Guido Burgstaller and Leon Goretzka.
It was an all round display from the Algerian, who won two tackles and touched the ball 91 times, more than any player on the pitch.

The two assists doubled Bentaleb’s season tally at Schalke to four, adding to the four league goals and one Europa League goal he has scored for the club.
The 22-year-old was playing in his third game back after Algeria’s early exit from the African Nations Cup and looks to have hit his stride.
