The Spurs duo have made the 30-player shortlist for the prestigious award.

A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that Spurs duo Hugo Lloris and Son Heung-min have been nominated for the 2019 Ballon d’Or award.
The Tottenham and France captain makes the 30-player shortlist for the second year in a row, having also been nominated in 2018.
Although Lloris helped Spurs reach the Champions League final, his form has been a bit less consistent than usual this year, and he’s been error-prone on occasion, and as such some fans disagreed with his inclusion.
There was a lot more delight in Son’s nomination, the South Korean having been impressive for a number of seasons now but to very little recognition, something he has now got by being named in the prestigious shortlist.
Here is some of the reaction on social media:
In all, 15 Premier League-based players were named on the shortlist for the Ballon d’Or, with seven from Liverpool, five from Manchester City and one from Arsenal.
The Ballon d’Or winner will be named in Paris on 2 December.
