Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Barcelona are reportedly interested in Matthijs de Ligt of Ajax.
The Daily Star has claimed of Tottenham’s interest in signing De Ligt from Ajax in the summer transfer window, while The Mirror has claimed that Liverpool want the 19-year-old central defender.
The Times has reported that Manchester United and Manchester City want the Netherlands international as well, but the teenager prefers Barcelona.
Missing out
De Ligt has had a superb season for Ajax, and there is no doubt that the 19-year-old will be a brilliant signing for Liverpool or Tottenham.
True, both the Reds and Spurs have very good central defenders, a player of De Ligt’s age, finesse, class and potential is too good to pass.
However, it will make sense for the Netherlands international to move to Barcelona.
Not only are Barcelona a bigger club than Liverpool and Tottenham, but the Blaugrana also play the kind of football that De Ligt is used to at Ajax.
