Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool both want Giorgio Scalvini but may now face paying up to £34million to sign the Atalanta talent in 2023.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that Atalanta are seeking big money for the teenage defender.

It’s suggested that a host of European giants are very keen on signing Scalvini.

Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Manchester City and Liverpool are all named as being keen on signing Scalvini.

CalcioMercatoWeb reported in November that Tottenham fancy signing Scalvini alongside his Atalanta teammate Ruslan Malinovskyi.

The race for Scalvini appears to be heating up but whether anybody will meet Atalanta’s lofty asking price remains to be seen.

Atalanta have become very good sellers in the transfer market and now view Scalvini as their latest big sale.

Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Franck Kessie, Alessandro Bastoni, Robin Gosens, Amad Diallo, Gianluca Mancini, Timothy Castagne… the list just goes on and on with Scalvini potentially joining them.

Who is Liverpool and Tottenham target Giorgio Scalvini?

Scalvini started out with Palazzolo, just about 15 minutes away from his home town of Chiari.

Scalvini was then snapped up by Brescia at the age of 10, continuing to stay in the Lombardy region of Italy.

After just two years with Brescia, Scalvini moved on to their Lombardy rivals Atalanta and the rest is history.

Scalvini made his debut last season and has now racked up more than 30 first-team appearances for the Bergamo side.

The 6ft 4in defender is so highly rated that he has already earned three senior caps for Italy and there should be many more to come.

Scalvini has also shown his versatility by playing in midfield and even scored a lovely goal against Roma in September.

The 19-year-old has enormous potential and we could see him at Liverpool or Tottenham – if they’re willing to pay big money.
