Tottenham Hotspur might be set for transfer disappointment this summer.
Mundo Deportivo reported in April that Spurs were interested in signing Barcelona’s Arthur Melo.
The 23-year-old is linked with a move away from Camp Nou and Tottenham are among the clubs reportedly in the reckoning.
But the Brazilian midfielder has just hinted that he wants to stay in Catalunya.
Barcelona sent a tweet to the player, asking their followers what style the fans prefer to see Arthur in, before the player responded: “I look good with all styles, but I’m better with the Barca jersey.”
Those aren’t the comments from a player determined to leave the Primera Liga club when the transfer window opens.
That being said, Tottenham don’t even need somebody of Arthur’s role if Tanguy Ndombele stays – and according to The Independent, the North Londoners have no plan on letting the big French midfielder leave.
According to Barca’s website, Arthur has a £353 million release clause.
