Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both may need new managers soon.
Just last summer it seemed like Tottenham Hotspur and North London rivals Arsenal were on very different paths.
Both had just lost major European finals, but one club seemed very much on the up and up, and the other seemed very much like a work in progress.
Fast forward a few months and Arsenal and Tottenham might be needing a new manager soon.
The Gunners have endured their worst start to a league season since 1982-83 under Unai Emery and, unbelievably, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been even worse, languishing 14th in the Premier League table after 12 games.
If rumours are believed, the Lilywhites have earmarked Julian Nagelsmann as a potential replacement for Pochettino and, ironically, his agent tipped him to join Arsenal once upon a time.
The 32-year-old Leipzig boss is one of Daniel Levy’s preferred picks to take over in North London [Football Fancast] if Tottenham continue to deteriorate under the Argentine.
Marc Kosicke, Nagelsmann’s representative, told AS in 2018 that he was convinced the young coach would potentially one day find himself at the Emirates Stadium. He said: “I am convinced that one day he will coach Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund or Arsenal, but not just yet.”
Despite heading in different directions earlier this year, Arsenal and Spurs, separated by three points in the table, both find themselves treading water right now and it could turn out to be a race between the pair for Nagelsmann.
