A lot of managers have been linked with the Tottenham Hotspur job, but Antonio Conte might be the most exciting candidate.
That’s because the Italian has just won yet another Serie A title, this time with Inter Milan, and is also a former Premier League winner during his spell at Chelsea.
Let’s be honest, Conte, who also won three league titles at Juventus between 2012 and 2014, blows a lot of other people on Tottenham’s reported shortlist out of the water.
Corriere dello Sport reported earlier this month that the 51-year-old has already met with Spurs officials but there hasn’t been much speculation about him going to North London since.
But his latest stunt is likely to get people talking about his future once more.
According to FC Inter 1908, Conte cancelled a press conference after last night’s win over Roma and also refused to speak to television media.
The report claims that it’s because he did not want to address the off-the-field issues at San Siro, amid reports that the newly-crowned Italian champions are in huge trouble financially.
Instead, his assistant Cristian Stellini was sent for media duties.
If you’re a Tottenham fan who wants him as Jose Mourinho’s long-term replacement, this makes for optimistic reading.
Inter, despite winning the title only this month, is rife with instability at the moment and Conte’s no-show for media duties only adds to that sense of uncertainty.
