Tottenham have been linked with Leonardo Bonucci but the Juventus defender has been slated after a dismal performance at Benfica on Tuesday night.
Juventus knew their Champions League life was on the line in Lisbon.
A defeat to Maccabi Haifa in their last game meant qualification was always going to be a long shot.
Massimiliano Allegri has been under huge pressure and last night’s defeat to Benfica is going to really test how much faith Juventus really have in him.

Tottenham have been linked with Leonardo Bonucci
Juventus were, to be blunt, terrible.
Antonio Silve’s header set Benfica on their way before Dusan Vlahovic gave Juventus a glimmer of hope.
Joao Mario scored from the spot and a sensational Rafa Silva back heel had Benfica coasting before Rafa Silva added another to make it 4-1.
Arkadiusz Milik pulled another one back for Juve before Weston McKennie set up a dramatic finale, only for Benfica to hold on.
That sounds like Juventus gave as good as they got, but their defending was shambolic throughout.
The space allowed for Rafa Silva’s fourth is something you would see on a park and Bonucci has been slammed.
Tottenham have been linked with Bonucci of late, with Sport Mediaset claiming that he could reunite with Antonio Conte very soon.
If Tottenham were watching last night’s game, they should avoid a move for Bonucci no matter how much Conte wants him.
Tuttomercatoweb rated Bonucci at just four out of 10, stating that he and Juan Cuadrado were ‘the worst’ players for Juventus on the night.
They added that Bonucci ‘fails, once again, to take the team by the hand’, seemingly expecting him to be a better leader in testing times.
Now 35, Bonucci appears to be a player in sharp decline and Juventus will surely be looking to offload him in 2023.
Conte may have loved the player Bonucci was, but he isn’t that player anymore.
Signing him would be a waste of resources at this point and having been ripped apart by Benfica, it’s clear that there is little to be gained by signing the Italian.
