Garth Crooks has claimed that Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son’s Premier League record for Tottenham ‘isn’t worth a row of beans’, as he told Final Score.

Tottenham thrashed Leeds United 4-0 on Saturday, with Kane and Son combining for the 37th time of their Premier League careers.

The Spurs duo surpassed Chelsea’s legendary duo, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard, to that crown.

Other names on the list are the likes of Sergio Aguero/David Silva, as well as Thierry Henry and Robert Pires.

But Tottenham legend, Crooks, made it clear that Kane and Son’s zero trophies doesn’t add much value to their achievement.

“I thought it was an interesting graphic because you have got Harry Kane and Son top of that, as a record pair of goalscorers,” says Crooks.

“Underneath that, you have got Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard. Then you have Sergio Aguero and David Silva. Also, Thierry Henry and Robert Pires.

“Of that graphic, there is something very conspicuous because the other pairs have what (Kane and Son) don’t have and that’s trophies.

“That is what is missing here. It’s alright being top of the goalscoring charts. But if you have nothing to back it up, then it isn’t worth a row of beans.”

Both Son and Kane enjoyed most of their goalscoring success under Mauricio Pochettino.

Whilst the now-PSG boss built a great base to help the club challenge for titles and reach a Champions League final, at the end of the day, he wasn’t able to add a trophy to their cabinet.

Jose Mourinho, who has won a trophy at every club he has been at, failed to do so in north London and now another trophy-laden coach in Antonio Conte is in their dugout.

Whilst the Italian has proven that he can be overdramatic at times, if Spurs don’t win anything with him, then their trophy wait will only go on and on.
