Tottenham Hotspur legend Ledley King has offered high praise for Danny Rose and Kyle Walker.

Spurs legend Ledley King sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and highlighted the importance of full-backs Danny Rose and Kyle Walker to the team, labelling them as vital to how Mauricio Pochettino wants to operate.

Both Walker and Rose have fully established themselves over the past year or so as first-choice in their respective positions for club and country, and their style of play is pivotal to Tottenham’s high intensity pressing game that they try to implement under the Argentine.

King, who made 323 appearances for the Lilywhites during a 14-year spell with the club, spoke to TottenhamHotspur.com about Rose and Walker’s development over the years, and how they now have to be considered vital members of the first-team:

“The way they’ve developed is incredible. Their speed makes them so difficult to beat in one-on-one situations. We’ve seen for the last couple of years the pair of them bombing forward, providing the width and they’ve taken it to international level now. They are two of the best full-backs around with everything modern-day full-backs need in terms of pace, very good one-on-one, energy to burn, high fitness levels and that ability to get up and down the pitch.”

Walker and Rose, both 26, have played a key role in their side’s success over the past 18 months, and have been a main contributing factor behind their 11-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

The onus will now be on their teammates to do their job at the other end of the pitch, if Tottenham are to mount the sustained challenge for the Premier League title that is expected of them.
