Tottenham beat Burnley 2-1 on Sunday.
Tottenham Hotspur were made to fight for the three points against Burnley but came out on top, recording a 2-1 win.
Former Spurs defender Graham Roberts hailed the win on social media, picking out the performances of a number of players as key to the victory.
Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen after the game
Roberts highlighted full-backs Danny Rose and Kyle Walker, along with playmaker Christian Eriksen, who had seven shots at goal during the win.
He was also keen to pick out centre-back Jan Vertonghen, who made 22 clearances as Tottenham sought to repel Burnley’s pressure.
Another to receive praise from the veteran was Moussa Sissoko, who provided the match winning assist for Danny Rose.
Sissoko has been under pressure since signing for the club, failing to impress early on, but he has had an upturn in form over the past fortnight.
Sissoko responded to Roberts’ message by ‘liking’ the comment, acknowledging the praise from the former player.
The Frenchman has received his fair share of criticism during 2016, but his activity shows he is paying attention to what is being said about him, and this should help to drive him on and prove his doubters wrong.
