Tottenham Hotspur youngster Dele Alli has endured heavy criticism in recent weeks.

Spurs legend Cliff Jones spoke to Football London during an exclusive interview, and offered his opinion on current Tottenham star Dele Alli, claiming that the 20-year-old needs to start focusing on showing how good he is, rather than trying to prove his toughness.
The England international has been in sensational form for Mauricio Pochettino’s men so far this season, despite the odd indiscretion, and has scored 14 goals in 36 outings in all competitions.
He has been a major driving force behind the Lilywhites climb up to second in the Premier League table, and alongside Harry Kane, has to be considered one of Spurs’ two most important players.
And Jones, who made 318 league appearances for Tottenham during a 10 year spell with the club, explained how the former MK Dons man needs to change the manner in which he conducts himself on the pitch, when speaking to Football London:

“Dele Alli is a brilliant player. Unfortunately he’s got this thing of going around proving how tough he is when I’d much prefer him going round showing how good he is. He’s had that sending off and hopefully Pochettino will have talked to him and now he’ll go out and show people how good he is and not how hard he is. Because that’s not doing him any good nor the club.”
The north London outfit still harbour hopes of Premier League glory, but with a 10 point gap between themselves and league leaders Chelsea, the likes of Alli and Kane will have to be at their very best for the remainder of the campaign, if they are to have any chance of achieving that.
