Sergio Reguilon could leave Tottenham Hotspur with Lazio now turning their attentions to the Spurs man over Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri.
Once Antonio Conte decided he doesn’t fancy you, it can be a long, long way back.
Conte quickly decided he didn’t like Tanguy Ndombele or Giovani Lo Celso and both both players have now been sent out on loan not once but twice this year.
Harry Winks is available too, with both he and left back Sergio Reguilon completely left out of Conte’s plans moving forward.
The duo were left out of the trip to South Korea during pre-season and Tottenham hope to move them on before the transfer deadline.
Sergio Reguilon could leave Tottenham Hotspur
Reguilon appears to be attracting more interest than Winks at the moment and another suitor has emerged in Italy.
Calciomercato report that Lazio have now joined the race to sign Reguilon.
Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri wants a left-sided player and had focused on working with Emerson again.
However, Lazio have now realised that Emerson is set to leave Chelsea for a move to West Ham United rather than reunite with his former Blues boss Sarri.
West Ham had scrapped a deal for Emerson last week, giving Lazio hope of a deal, but the Hammers have resurrected their move and look set to complete the deal.
That means Lazio now have to look elsewhere, and have turned their attention towards Reguilon.
It’s stated that Atalanta also want to sign Reguilon, but the competition isn’t the main problem for Lazio.
It’s actually Reguilon’s wages that are the issue, with Lazio needing him to drop his wage demands or spread them out over a longer contract.
Whether Reguilon wants to accept that remains to be seen, but Tottenham may well inadvertently benefit from West Ham signing Emerson.
