Spurs must be ready to face a full strength West Brom side tomorrow who have no injury concerns off the back of their impressive 3-0 win over Liverpool last weekend. Spurs welcome Emmanuel Adebayor back to the club who could be in line to start whilst Jan Vertonghen is fully fit after a small injury picked up on international duty cleared up. They will be without Scott Parker, Giovani Dos Santos and Heurelho Gomes for the visit of The Baggies and also Younes Kaboul who has picked up knee complaint.
Tottenham may be about to take advantage of Southampton’s collapsed Gaston Ramirez deal by swooping for the Uruguayan international themselves. The Bologna playmaker is reportedly furious at his club for allowing the deal to crumble and reports in Italy suggest Tottenham is now his preferred destination, despite interest from Liverpool and Inter Milan.
In an exclusive interview with Goal.com Colombian marksman Radamel Falcao has tipped Andre Villas Boas to be a hit at White Hart Lane. Falcao worked under AVB during a successful spell at Porto and highlighted the positives of the young manager who he feels can bring success to the club. However he also distanced himself from any potential switch to the Premier League instead proclaiming his desire to stay in La Liga for the foreseeable future.
Michael Dawson’s proposed move to QPR is still reportedly on the verge of collapse. BBC Sport report that despite a £7.5 million deal being agreed between the two London clubs Mark Hughes feels the deal is in danger due to a hitch in agreeing personal terms with the former Nottingham Forest defender.
Tottenham have now officially missed out on 19-year-old England youth international left back Ezekiel Fryers who has decided to join Belgian side Standard Liege. Despite personal terms being agreed between the player and the club no such thing could be said about the 2 clubs. Tottenham and Manchester United could not agree on a fair compensation package for the player, in line with current FA rules on the signing of young footballers. However the move to Standard is not subject to such regulations and therefore Fryers has taken this opportunity to move on and start a new career in Belgium.
Meanwhile Tom Huddlestone’s loan move to Stoke has still not gone through, report Sky Sports, who claimed this evening it has hit a hitch despite the midfielder passing a medical at the club yesterday.
And finally, Andre Villas-Boas may have ruled out selling Rafael van der Vaart last night, but the Mail this morning claimed Manchester United were ready to swoop for the midfielder. However Sir Alex Ferguson intimated today that he was happy with his squad and did not expect to make any further signings so this one looks unlikely.
