Spurs finished in the Premier League’s top four and will contest the Champions League final in June.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker-Peters has given his assessment of the 2018-19 season, describing the team’s run to the Champions League final as “surreal”.
Spurs successfully kept Arsenal at bay to finish the Premier League campaign in the top four, giving them the opportunity to qualify for the 2019-20 Champions League, and will also be contesting this year’s showpiece against Liverpool in Madrid on 1 June.
Indeed, Mauricio Pochettino’s charges were in the running for the title alongside Manchester City and Liverpool for much of the season, but ultimately the wear and tear of the season meant keeping up with the top two could not be sustained into the latter stages of the campaign.
In addition, Tottenham made no signings in the last two transfer window, meaning Pochettino had to make do with a relatively small squad, but despite this, they will go into the 2019-20 season hoping to make the Champions League group stages – as well as potentially being the holders.

“We wanted to finish in the top four,” Walker-Peters is quoted by the official Spurs website as saying. “It’s been a tough year for us, we’ve had a lot of injuries but we’ve shown our resilience and shown that everyone can step in when needed.
“It felt great to play again [in the season finale against Everton] but the training prepares you to come in at any point, so credit to the manager and the staff for keeping us all ready. Ultimately, at the end, we’ve got what we wanted. That was to finish in the top four and we’re in the Champions League Final as well, which is even better. It’s surreal really.”
Walker-Peters has struggled for game time this season, making just 10 appearances in all competitions and four Premier League starts, according to Transfermarkt, while Football London predicts that the 22-year-old may be shipped out on loan this summer due to being down the pecking order.
