Alan Shearer sent Harry Kane a two-word message on Twitter after the Tottenham Hotspur striker scored for England with a long-range strike away to Poland on Wednesday night.
Kane broke the deadlock for the Three Lions in their World Cup qualifier with a sublime strike from distance. Entering the closing stages, the 28-year-old collected possession 25-yards from Wojciech Szczesny’s net and with no support, unleashed a rocket.
An opportunist shot, Kane tried his luck with 18-minutes remaining and saw his dipping attempt curve into Szczesny’s bottom corner. But it was not to be the winner, as Damian Szymanski rose above Luke Shaw to snatch a 92nd-minute equaliser.

Substitute Szymanski’s goal ended England’s 100% winning record in Group I, but Poland remain in second behind Gareth Southgate’s side. The Three Lions are four points ahead with four games remaining, as they bid to reach the 2022 World Cup.
Tottenham star Kane, meanwhile, moved one closer to Wayne Rooney’s all-time England record of 53 with his 41st international goal. He has scored in all three fixtures during the September international break. With Kane’s latest strike also earning praise from Shearer.
The all-time Premier League top-scorer lauded the 64-cap ace’s opener against Poland on social media with a two-word message. Shearer wrote: “Fantastic strike, Kane,” followed by clapping emojis after the Tottenham talisman found the net in style for England.
Tottenham ace Kane took England matters into his hands to earn Shearer praise
Kane took matters into his own hands against Poland, with the Tottenham striker going for the magnificent as England struggled to earn Shearer’s praise with his eye-catching goal.
He struck the ball with vigorous intent in search of what Kane and Southgate hoped would be the winner. Floating the ball just over Jan Bednarek’s head before fading into the corner of the net out of Szczesny’s reach.
It had not been Kane’s night until the Three Lions captain’s moment of magic from range at the PGE Narodowy. He had his chances to beat Szczesny, but could not find a way around Poland’s former Arsenal shot-stopper. Kane also looked sluggish for England, which Nuno Espirito Santo will hope was a one-off before Tottenham visit Crystal Palace on Saturday.
