West Ham United may have been priced out of Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang and reports suggest Tottenham are ready to move in.
Reports in Italy state that Tottenham are considering an offer for Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang, who is too expensive for West Ham.
The 22-year-old former Atletico Madrid man has been on West Ham’s radar for some time and the Hammers reportedly entered talks with Sampdoria last week.
However, the Italian press suggest that Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti has refused to reduce his asking price of just under £5 million – a sum that West Ham can’t match.
The Spanish midfielder is seen as an important asset by Sampdoria despite having a somewhat disappointing 2013-14 campaign.
Obiang represented Spain at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, albeit sporadically, and he has made just under 100 appearances for Sampdoria.
It is believed that Obiang would welcome the chance to test himself in the Premier League and Tottenham could be a good match.
