Tottenham Hotspur want Ivan Perisic – but Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi is seemingly hopeful of keeping him at the San Siro this summer.

Perisic, 33, will be a name familiar to many given his displays around Europe.

The winger has excelled on the international stage with Croatia whilst shining for the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich.

Now more of a wing back rather than the flying winger he used to be, Perisic is still impressing.

Perisic has racked up eight goals and seven assists in 35 Serie A games this season whilst mostly playing as a left wing back.

The problem for Inter is that Perisic is out of contract this summer and can simply leave the San Siro for absolutely nothing.

There is mounting interest in Perisic even though he is now the wrong side of 30 for many teams.

ESPN report that Perisic is open to signing for Tottenham Hotspur this summer sign Spurs keen on a deal.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte worked with Perisic at Inter Milan and may now fancy a reunion in North London.

Conte has previously hailed Perisic as an ‘excellent’ player and they could join forces again.

Sergio Reguilon’s future at Tottenham is unclear and Perisic may be seen as experienced competition for Ryan Sessegnon at left wing back.

Inter aren’t ready to just give up on Perisic though with boss Simone Inzaghi sharing his thoughts on the veteran’s future.

Inzaghi has been quoted by Sky Sports as saying that he wants to see Perisic stay put this summer.

Inzaghi admitted that he has been ‘really impressed’ with Perisic this season and he has vastly exceeded his expectations.

The Italian added that Perisic is a ‘top player’ and hopes there is some positive news about a new contract soon with Tottenham lurking.

“Of course [Perisic staying] is what I want,” said Inzaghi. “He has impressed me; training him has really impressed me. He has exceeded my expectations.”

“I have faced him as an opponent, he is a top player. He has had a great season. He has quality and quantity – he does it all and is complete. I hope there is some good news soon about his future,” he added.
